Operations Manager

The Operations Manager oversees the District’s Field, Production, and Storage Operations. This includes managing water distribution, domestic and recycled water functions, Field Service divisions, Production and Storage. They’re responsible for planning, operations, maintenance, budgeting, and personnel. Their role also involves participating in the operation and maintenance of various systems like pumping, SCADA, water quality, and recycled water distribution.

This role operates under the guidance of the Director of Operations, overseeing subordinate supervisors and employees within the Operations department. It holds accountability for ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations governing water distribution, production, storage, and distribution of water and recycled water. As a managerial role, it involves interfacing and coordinating with various departments and members of the WVWD Management Team. Utility Service Lead (Field Service)

Reporting to the Field Supervisor and Operations Manager, you’ll oversee a wide array of maintenance, installation, and repair tasks with minimal supervision. Leading the Operations Field team, you’ll provide direction, training, and coordination to ensure efficient workflow. Your responsibilities will include maintaining and repairing the water distribution system (potable and recycled), inspecting new construction projects, and ensuring adherence to safety standards. Accounting Technician I

Walnut Valley Water District is excited to announce that we are accepting applications for the position of Accounting Technician I.

Join our dynamic team at Walnut Valley Water District as an Accounting Technician I. As an entry-level member of the Finance Department, you’ll be an integral part of our organization’s backbone. Collaborating with our dedicated Accounting team, you’ll receive guidance and supervision from our experienced Accounting Manager and Accounting Supervisor. Your main responsibilities will include assisting with routine accounting and administrative tasks such as managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and maintaining financial records. Additionally, you’ll play a key role in supporting the District’s purchasing and inventory functions, ensuring smooth operations and efficiency. As an Accounting Technician I, you’ll have the opportunity to dive into a diverse range of accounting duties, your role will require quick and accurate mathematical calculations, proficiency with modern office equipment and computer applications, and efficient data entry skills. Working under pressure with frequent interruptions, you’ll need to exercise sound judgment in maintaining information and records. Students who attend high school within the WVWD service area or live in the service area are eligible to participate in the 2024 Summer High School Internship program. Schools within the WVWD service area include:

  • Diamond Bar High School
  • Diamond Ranch High School
  • Ron Hockwalt Academies
  • Rowland High School
  • Walnut High School
